Total Control

Each component of your staircase has been designed by Designed Stairs and made in our mill, meeting quality standards, consistent quality and finish while following our superior design aesthetics.

Rather than buying stair parts from a manufacturer, which can give you mismatched, materials, color and finish, we control all aspects from the purchase of lumber, all the way through to final assembly or installation.

Precision fabrication for higher quality and less time on site

Due to our advanced shop fabrication techniques, Designed Stairs has less days on site.

Getting your sub-contractors on and off the site quickly and efficiently is one of the keys to a successful project. Our shop fabrication not only creates a higher quality product — installation is faster. Stairs built by Designed Stairs arrive at the jobsite with a greater degree of shop-fabricated parts than our competitors. This allows our highly trained field installers to build a higher quality stair in less time than other stair companies. You can get your next trade in and complete your job faster! Our shop fabrication simply can't be matched by work done in the field. From stringers milled on CNC to hand carving fittings to rail, our joinery sets us apart.

Design is worked out in detail before any material is cut

Designing for alignment, intersections and connection is required for fine quality design. There may be a hundred or more components in a stair and rail and each connectoin must be considered from flight to flight.

Prior to single part being cut, each connection and intersection is laid out for alignment and aesthetics.

This example may look like an architectual elevatoin, however it is much more.

Basement to 2nd floor is calculated and laid out to fine detail, aligning the stringers, treads, rail, glass and glass hardware, from all angles.

This gets turned into CNC programs to cut stringers, drill treads, make slab landings, as well as making glass templates.
