Start with quality components; we make all our own components

DSI started manufacturing our own parts for the sole purpose of quality control. We are not satisfied with quality of parts we could buy. From manufacturing stair parts, through fabrication and final assembly, every step of the process builds in quality. Starting the highest grades of hardwoods available, we further select for color and clarity for each and every part we make. Your benefit: All parts are made from the same lumber source; this gives you more consistent color and finish in each of your parts.

Proprietry and Original Designs Increase Quality

Integrated Newels

While competitors typcially use bolts and plates to install their newels, we design into the stair and rail system integrated newels. Instead of using hardware to attach newels , our newels are cut on a CNC to interface with stair stringers, treads, and risers. By utilizing the newel base to give more contact surface we achieve less movement leverage making an overall stronger newel support.

Newel stability translates into your rail stability.

For over a 100 years, milled stringers have been the foundation of a quality staircase

Milled staircases are designed to be beautiful and have enduring strength. Our milled stringers are CNC routed to a depth of 7/16" (.4375") to house tread ends anchored with wood glue and pressure wedges. Milled stringers will ensure that your stairs do not squeak and last into the next generation.
