Designed Stairs puts 57 years of staircase design, fabrication, and installation experience into every pre-fabricated custom stair kit we build. You can forget creating a detailed parts list and shopping at multiple suppliers for your stair projects. We design the staircase to your space, then professionally prepare the components in our shop. Stringers, treads, risers, newels, rail, and balusters, are all shipped to your site for final, easy installation by your carpenters.

Custom Stair Kits are available in a wide variety of options and styles. From basic staircases and wall rail for multi-family projects to high-end curved stairs for luxury homes and historic reproduction work, Designed Stairs has the products and experience to get the job done right. Our stair kits combine the individuality of a custom stair with the simplicity of fabricated kit. When your experience trim carpenter is not experience with stairs, training is the answer. Luxury kits can be complex and training assures a high-quality end result.

What is Stair and Rail Training?

You supply your skilled trim carpenter – we supply the stair expertise

With tools:  We bring our tool belt and work side by side with your carpenter to get the stair set.  We then review the process of setting the newels and the rails.  We will stay as long as needed until your carpenter is comfortable with the balance of the install

Without tools:   We start the day with your carpenter and go over the key process steps.  We watch them get started with setting the stair.

Training is generally one day, but on larger projects with multiple layouts, consider one day per stair.
